The heat-sensitive element (2) of the probe (1) controls a calculator (Ca) converting into digital value the temperature measured by said element. The transmission of data from the calculator (Ca) to a receiver (R) is controlled by a gate (P1) which enables the transmission to take place only after a contact controller (Co) has verified that the probe is in contact with the body of which the temperature is to be measured and that the probe has remained uninterruptedly in contact with said body during a predetermined duration of time at least equal to the time required by the heat-sensitive element (2) to reach the temperature of said body. Thereby, the apparatus insures that any temperature value which does not correspond to the real temperature to be measured is not transmitted to the receiver in case of accidental contact interruption between the probe (1) and said body.
