3-R-4-R3R4 -phenyl-5-R1,R2-phenyl -4H-1,2,4-triazole derivs. of formula (I) and their acid addn. salts are claimed in the parent patent (FR2488891 17865E/10). The present patent of addn. claims the specific cpds. defined below (I) where R2, R4 are H except in (a) and R is ethyl; R1 is 4-methoxy and R3 is 4-(CH3)2N-, 4-NH2 or 4-chloro; (b) R is -CH2COOC2H5; R1 is 4-methoxy and R3 is H or 4-methoxy; (c) R is -CH2COOH; R1 4-methoxy and R3 is H; (d) R is isopropyl; R1 is 4-methoxy and R3 is 4-methoxy; (e) R is ethyl; R1,R2 are 3,4-methylenedioxy, 3,4-dimethoxy or 4-(CH3)2N and R3 is 4-methoxy; (f) R is ethyl; R1 is 4-hydroxy and R3 is 4-hydroxy or H; (g) R is ethyl; R1 is 4-(CH3)2N- and R3 is 4-nitro or 4-(CH3)2N; (h) R is methyl and R1,R3 are H and (i) R,R3 are H and R1 is 4-(CH3)2N. (B) Intermediates of formula W-CO-NH-NH-CO-R (II) and (IV) are specifically claimed (where (a) W is ethyl and R is 4-chlorophenyl, 3,4-methylenedioxy-phenyl or 3,4-dimethoxyphenyl or (b) W is isopropyl and R is 4-methoxy-phenyl. Analgesics useful for treating nerve, muscle or joint pain, toothache, migraine, rheumatic troubles etc. Admin. may be by enteral, parenteral or topical routes e.g. 50mg-2g daily p.o.
