PURPOSE:To permit the supply of water by siphon, etc., by a method in which a water reservoir is divided into several sections by dams, cover gates having pressure-regulating ports and switching valves are provided to each section of the water reservoir, and the sectioned water reservoirs and remote water reservoirs are connected with water supply pipes. CONSTITUTION:A water reservoir having inlets 28 and outlets 29 is divided by dams 1 and 2, and cover gates 3 having pressure-regulating ports 7 and switching valves 8 are provided to the divided sections of the reservoir. Water supply pipes 5 to produce differencess of pressure and level between the divided sections of the reservoir and water supply pipes 5 to supply water to other remote water reservoirs are provided to the divided sections of the reservoir. Since the water levels of the divided sections of the reservoir are different to each other, water can be supplied to remote water reservoirs by siphon, etc.
