Compsns. modifying the organoleptic detection level of perfume materials and desensitising the olfactory nerves in humans and animals contain either: - (a) 0.9-1.1 wt.% rosephenone, 0.9-1.1 wt.% phenyl-acetic-acid, 1.8-2.2 wt.% oil of cloves, 2.7-3.3 wt.% aniline, 4.5-5.5 wt.% heliotropin, 4.5-5.5 wt.% coumarin, 4.5-5.5 wt.% citronella Ceylon, 4.5-5.5 wt.% diphenyl-oxide, 4.5-5.5 wt.% phenyl-ethyl-alcohol, 4.5-5.5 wt.% eucalyptus oil, 4.5-5.5 wt.% parahex, 4.5-5.5 wt.% french lavender oil, 4.5-5.5 wt.% menthanyl-acetate, 4.5-5.5 wt.% sandol, 9-11 wt.% terpinolene, 9-11 wt.% isoraldeine, 9-11 wt.% terpineol, and 11.7-14.3 wt.% dimethyl-phthalate, or: - (b) 0.36-0.44 wt. - methyl-para-cresol, 0.45-0.55 wt.% birch-tar oil, 0.7-1.1 wt.% eichenmoos, 0.99-1.21 wt.% dimethyl-phthalate, 1.8-2.2 wt.% borneol, 1.8-2.2 wt.% sandol, 2.7-3.3 wt.% benzoe-resinoid, 2.7-3.3 wt.% eucalyptus oil, 3.6-4.4 wt.% musketone, 3.6-4.4 wt.% linalool, 4.5-5.5 wt.% menthanyl-acetate, 4.5-5.5 wt.% diphenyl-oxide, 4.5-5.5 yonon-savon, 5.4-6.6 wt.% parahex, 7.2-8.8 wt.% isononyl-acetate, 18-22 wt.% terpinolene and 27-33 wt.% lavandin oil, pref. in ethanolic soln.
