Method comprises sepg. the solid (14) from the liq. (15) components pref. with the aid of a screening unit (13) and possibly applying a pressure differential. After sepn., the liq. component only may be spread on the land whilst the solids may be dried and, if required, packed. The sepn. unit (10) used may comprise an inlet (11) to a pump (12) supplying the manure from a pit to a unit (13) contg. a cylindrical screen (21) with reciprocating piston, collecting tanks (16) for the solids, and an outlet (17) for the liq. The unit (10) may be movable on wheels (18).
