A horizontal pipe is connected between a number of nipples and a liq. storage tank. The level in the tank is maintained by a float valve. Each nipple union is connected via a system of communicating vessels freely with the tank. The suction height is set to correspond with the mean suction effort of a piglet, this effort being limited by a guard plate. This prevents the animal taking the nipple too far into its mouth. A mechanism is also provided to prevent siphon effect after a piglet has let go.
