Controlled frequency heart pacemaker - has transducer sensing acidity of blood and providing signal compared with reference to vary pacemaker frequency accordingly
The pacemaker includes an impedance matching stage receiving on its input the electrical signal produced by a linear transducer providing a signal varying according to the pH of the blood. This stage may also amplify this signal to about one volt. The signal is then fed to one input of a comparator whose second input receives a reference voltage. The output of the comparator comprises a signal whose voltage has a value proportional to the difference between the inputs received. This signal is fed to a limiting matching circuit which provides an output (U) which is fed to a variable frequency pacemaker, whose frequency is proportional to the value of the signal (U). If the pH of the blood falls as a result of additional physical activity, the output signal rises increasing the frequency of the pacemaker.
