Wood-working machine for the double-end processing of oblong timber, in particular profiled woods such as casement and frame woods of windows, having a workpiece-conveying path, in which a workpiece introduced at a feeding point can be gripped by carriers and controllable clamping devices provided thereon and can be moved along, in a conveying direction running transversely to the length of the workpiece, past sets of wood-working stations arranged on both sides of the conveying path and each having at least one tool. The invention simplifies such a machine and the use thereof by the fact that the first set of wood-working stations lying on one side of the conveying path is offset in the conveying direction with respect to the second set of working stations lying on the other side, that between the sets of working stations a transverse conveying station is provided, in which a workpiece situated there can be moved transversely to the conveying direction as far as a stop adjustably arranged on the side of the first set to a second working position, in which, on conveying the workpiece further, the second set of working stations can be brought into engagement with the other end of the workpiece.
