Abstract Of The DisclosureA signal defect compensator is provided whichdevelops a replacement video signal for use during asignal dropout. The replacement video comprises videoimage information from the horizontal lines both beforeand after the line on which the dropout occurs, thereplacement video being obtained by summing video from acurrent scanning line with video from a channel includinga 2H delay, the video channel further including means forinsuring the chroma portion of the replacement video beingof the proper phase.- 1 -
