The invention relates to a learning aid for complete elementary mathematical instruction. The most essential part of this learning aid is the 100 cm dice series made from dimensionally accurate 10 mm3 cubic beads arranged in a straight line on non-rigid tape and subdivided decimally by coloration. This 100 cm dice series, together with - function box, - hollow components (small boxes without lids, base area 2.2 cm and 5.5 cm, edge height 4 mm in each case), - 50 cubic beads not arranged in sequence, - 2 cm to 5 cm long rods (base area 10.10 mm and - other extras constitutes the versatile, universal learning means. This learning means makes it possible to conduct operational arithmetical instruction which is problem-free and based on the practical activity of the student, even in the case of elementary arithmetic (with many game ideas and measures which prepare for subsequent rational instruction, and then in dealing with - all types of elementary arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages), - the decimal system and decimal notation, - the dimensions of lines, surfaces and solids, - the calculation of areas and volumes, - elementary algebra, with the clarification of all mathematical relationships in each case.
