Reading instruction game, in which a typographic game based on adhesive films and a reading primer form a unit, in terms of film technology and practical instruction, for giving instruction in reading in a problem-free manner which facilitates the manual activity of the children
Description: The invention relates to a learning aid for reading instruction, in which the children can not only read but simultaneously be manually active, because activity is of great importance for the development of children's intellectual powers. The activity here takes the form of assembling individual letters, which are printed on small strips, to form words and dismantling them again. Modern developmental psychology has been able to demonstrate convincingly that manual activity and, especially, independent experimentation play a crucial part in the healthy development of the intellectual powers of children. "Their powers of understanding mature as an extension of specific activities which are internalised" (Piaget). This observation is of fundamental importance because reading, and especially learning to read, requires a purely intellectual effort without physical activity, and because this learning is therefore unnatural for children (without some counteraction). With the present reading instruction game, the instruction can be designed to be more suitable for children and the purely intellectual effort can be combined with logical manual activity, because the typographical film game is integrated into the reader primer so that ...
