The invention relates to a special production technology for standard components of increased strength, the rolled rod from the deformation heating step being thermally prestrained by controlled cooling and provided by a downstream cold deformation, matched to the strength reached after rolling, with such strain-hardening that the standard components, after upsetting, meet the specifications for higher strength demands without the otherwise usual final heat treatment.
