Electrochemical coatings autoprotective against corrosive agents for magnesium and its alloys or metals containing this element

Electrochemical methods making it possible to obtain highly insoluble insulating coatings, autoprotective in various corrosive media of compositions similar to those of natural minerals, having especially ion exchange physicochemical properties, produced on magnesium and its alloys or metals containing this element. The coatings consist of complex refractory oxides which may contain the elements: magnesium, chromium, silicon, aluminium, tungsten and vanadium, as well as compounds capable of inhibiting the corrosion of magnesium and of its alloys. These coatings may be produced industrially for different applications in various industries and can be used as an anchor base for subsequent coatings.
