CELL CULTURE OF TUBEROUS ROOT OF DEVIL'S TONGUE

PURPOSE:To obtain a tuberous root of devil's tongue in 3-5 months, by the callus culture of the tissue of the tuberous root of devil's tongue. CONSTITUTION:The tissue of a tuberous root of devil's tongue is cultured in a callus-inducing medium containing kinetin, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and 6-gamma, gamma-dimethylallylaminopurine at =18 deg.C, preferably at 23-28 deg.C. Callus can be induced in about 3 months, and the proliferated callus is separated and collected from the culture liquid. The callus can be used as a raw material for the preparation of KONJAK (paste made from the starch of the devil's tongue), and if necessary, it can be preserved after drying and pulverization.
