DISCHARGING DEVICE FOR SLUDGE FROM FLOCCULATING AND SETTLING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent clogging with sludge by operating a sludge discharging pump intermittently even after the stoppage of treating operation. CONSTITUTION:When a selecting switch 16 for a sludge discharge pump is turned off, both contacts MX3 and AX3 are closed by which the operation of a working timer 23 is started after the stoppage of the treatment. The contacts T3 of the timer 23 are held closed during the st time T3 since the start of the operation. On the other hand, a pump stopping timer 19, a pump working timer 20 and auxiliary relays 21, 22 repeat on-off operations, and contacts X21 are opened and closed at every set time T2, T1 of the timers 19, 20. Thus during the set time t3 of the timer 23 after the stoppage of the treatment from the point of the time t0 when the treating operation is stopped a sludge discharging pump 5 and an air pinch valve 9 are operated intermittently and therefore sludge is discharged automatically with good efficiency by waiting for the time when the sludge settles in a sludge collecting tank 4.
