摘要

PURPOSE:To enable easy analysis of a sample eliminating crushing and mixing operations by measuring increase in the weight there-of when a water solution of an alkaline metal salt or an alkaline earth metal salt is added to the sample and baked by heat to react. CONSTITUTION:An uranium oxide sample UOx unknown in the value x is weighed and placed in a quartz crucible and a water solution of lithium nitrate is added to the sample from an automatic pipet. Then, the UOx sample is placed into a dryer. After drying, it is shifted to a tubular furnace, subjected to a gradually rising temperature while air is flowing until the temperature reaches 650 deg.C in several hours and retained as it is for 2hrs. Then, the sample is cooled and the weight thereof is measured. The quantity of oxygen is calculated from th increase in the weight of the uranium oxide. This allows an additive to contact the sample with an extreme uniformity by a nuclear scale thereby facilitating the proceeding of the reaction and ultimately eliminating the need for high temperature in heating.
