- 14 -ABSTRACTThe present invention relates to an antennaarrangement which includes a polarization diplexer capableof bidirectionally directing two orthogonally polarizedsignals along one path in the far field of the antennaarrangement and along two separate paths in the near fieldfor interception along at least one of the paths by anarray of feed elements. The array is arranged to provide afixed linear phase taper along one axis across the array toproduce or intercept a beam squinted at an angle 90degrees-.alpha. to the face of the array and including a signalpolarized in a first direction. Phase shifting meansselectively produce a linear phase taper along a secondaxis across the face of the array orthogonal to the firstaxis to cause the beam to traverse a predetermined arc inthe far field of view. Polarizatrion mismatch at the arrayfrom the diplexer is overcome by providing a singleproperly inclined 90 degree polarization rotator or by twoproperly inclined 90 degree polarization rotators dependingon the direction of polarizaion and whether the array is alinear or a two-dimensional array.
