MULTIPLE ELECTRODE ARRAY FORMING ISOPOTENTIAL MAP FOR ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH

ABSTRACTAn electrode for an electrocardiograph used formeasuring potentials of a number of points of a bodysurface near the heart and producing an isopotential mapthereof, has a plurality of spring-loaded rods movablymounted for reciprocal movement in the direction of thelengths thereof and urged toward the human body surface,and a pin contact set on the one end of each rod. Eachpin contact set has a plurality of parallel electricallyconductive spring loaded pin contact, movably mounted formovement reciprocally in the direction of its lengthfor directly contacting the human body surface. The pincontacts of each set are mounted in a small area close toone another and are mutually electrically connected inparallel, the space between the pin contacts of each pincontact set being much smaller than the space between theadjacent small areas of the pin contact sets, whereby thepotential at a position on the body surface contacted bya pin contact set can be detected as long as one pin contactin the set is in good contact with the body, even if the otherpin contacts in the set are in bad contact.
