Hydroxyalkyl, hydroxycycloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkoxycycloalkyl, aminoalkyl, aminocycloalkyl or epoxyalkyl disulphides and trisulphides, as well as physiologically hydrolysable and acceptable esters and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts as pharmaceuticals, especially immunostimulants. Some of these disulphides and trisulphides, i.e. those of the formula IMAGE in which R3 and R4 are hydrogen, C1-5-alkyl or acyl, x is 2 or 3, n is 2 to 8, and p is 1 to 3, are novel and are claimed per se.
