Integrated coal-drying device for steam boilers or fluidised-bed furnaces

The object of the invention is to increase the efficiency of those caloric power station blocks which are heated with very wet coal. For this purpose, an integrated coal-drying unit is proposed, in which the coal-drying chambers located between the coal bunkers and the furnace are heated by bleed steam from the steam turbine. The efficiency of the caloric block is improved by this combined power/drying process. A further essential advantage of the invention is that the fumes and carbonisation gases, formed during drying of the coal, pass into the combustion chamber or into the fluidised-bed furnace of the steam boiler. This reduces pollution of the environment by these materials. During operation, inert flue gas flows through the drying chambers and, if present, the coal mills, and the fire risk due to the coal broken up beforehand and the explosion risk due to the pulverised coal are avoided.
