A device/detection apparatus for early identification of fire and overheating in electrical/electronic and other installations, installed in housings/cabinets which enclose these systems. The subject-matter of the invention is a compact device which is built-in or on the system which is to be monitored, with whose aid evidence of fire and overheating can be identified very quickly, using the criteria of smoke detection, temperature detection for maximum values, temperature detection with respect to a maximum permissible temperature rise in a time unit, air flow monitoring and fan monitoring.
