Apparatus for the learning and practising of submersion by small children and for facilitating submersion by small children in water-filled bath tubs, having a bar which can be embraced by a child's hands, characterised by a submersion practice support (11), which can be inserted into the interior space of a bath tub (12) and can be removed again, can be secured at two opposing side walls (13) of the tub (12) and, if applicable, at the base (14) of the latter, consists of several bars (15) or the like and has at least two, preferably, however, three, horizontal parallel grip bars (16, 18, 20) and, or rather or, grip rungs (19) which are located below the water surface.
