Trimming keel for sailing yachts and model sailing yachts

The object of the invention is to utilise the water flow at the keel caused by the sailing for producing a moment righting the yacht in a way which permits optimum sailing characteristics - in particular optimum speeds close to the wind - with a small portion of ballast which only serves to provide adequate safety. This is achieved by a horizontally split keel, the bottom part of which can be turned relative to the top part manually or mechanically - if need by in a computer-controlled manner - until the desired moment is obtained.
