A barred belt for barred belt conveyors has three or more flexible, substantially inextensible belts 1, 2, 3 extending in the longitudinal direction of the barred belt, said flexible belts having teeth 4 on their inner surfaces and having adjacent, transversely extending bars 6 on their smooth rear surfaces, the ends of said bars being secured by means of rivets 8 extending through the belts. To permit the bar ends to be securely connected to the belt or belts 2 located between the lateral belts, the intermediate belts have a tooth-free zone on both sides of the toothing and have overlapping bar ends which are riveted to both edges of the belts in the region of the tooth-free zones.
