PURPOSE:To provide a repellent for gastropod exhibiting excellent repelling effect against harmful gastropods such as slug, snail, Acusta despecta (a kind of snail), etc., damaging agricultural crops, fruit trees, etc., by using p-chloro-m- xylenol, etc., as an active component. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of compound selected from p-chloro-m-xylenol, tribromophenol, 3-methyl-4-chlorophenol, o-benzyl-p-chlorophenol, 2-no-octyl-4- isothiazolin-3-one and sodium lauryl sulfate is used as an active component. The active component is mixed with a carrier or an adjuvant and applied in the form of wettable powder, emulsifiable concentrate, etc., or compounded to a resin or rubber or formed in then form of a sheet, film or tube. The agent is scattered, sprayed or coated to the living part, intruded part or damaged part of the plowed land or orchard, etc., or laid under a flowerpot, etc., in the form of a sheet, etc.
