STAINLESS STEEL CONTAINING AL AND HAVING EROSION RESISTANCE AT HIGH TEMPERATURE

PURPOSE:To obtain a stainless steel contg. Al and having superior resistance to erosion due to solid particles at high temp. by adding specified percentages of C, Si, Al, Mn and Gr to Fe. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel consisting of, by weight, =0.15% C, 0.15-2.50% Si, 0.80-4.50% Al, 0.10-0.80% Mn, 12.0-28.0% Cr and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is prepared. The steel may further contain =0.8% one or more among Ti, Zr Nb, Y, a rare earth metal and Ca. Since the stainless steel has superior corrosion resistance at high temp., it is fit for use at about 1,100 deg.C high temp. in a highly corrosive atmosphere.
