PURPOSE:To promote oxidizing reaction by an oxidizing exothermic material and increase temperature rising speed in a furnace body by swinging a lance, which blows oxygen gas on the oxidizing exothermic material, in the furnace. CONSTITUTION:The exothermic material, for example coke 3, is charged in the converter 1, having for example two tuyeres 4 for gas blowing on the furnace bottom. Next, the oxygen gas is blowed on the cokes 3 from the lance 2 and also the lance 2 is swung by a driving means. At the time of oxidizing and firing of the cokes 3, inert gas is supplied in the converter 1 from the tuyere 4 through a gas supplied tube 5.
