SURFACE TREATMENT OF MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To smooth the surface of a coated film and to obtain a magnetic medium having high recording density, high S/N and higher reliability by subjecting the uncured magnetic coated film to a treatment in a deflected pulsation magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:A single magnetic pole 2 or a pair of magnetic poles (may be magnetic poles 2a, 2b, two pieces each of which are made in a pair) are installed stop, behind or opposite to an aluminum disk 1 or magnetic tape 1' and a magnetic coating compd. prepd. by dispersing pulverous ferromagnetic powder into a high-polymer binder soln. is coated on such aluminum disk by a spin coating (or roll coating) method. The magnetic material particles in the coated film are treated in the deflected pulsation magnetic field (superposed with DC+AC). The magnetic disk which is free from a base crack and has the coated film of surface smoothness and higher reliability and the excellent electrical characteristics is thus obtd.
