WATER MODEL EXPERIMENTAL APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To improve an experimental accuracy by coinciding various phenomena in water flow with the actual molten steel flow, by allowing to coincide a nozzle for continuous casting and water vessel for the experiment in a model experimental apparatus for pouring hot wafer from a tundish to a mold with the actual dimensions and shapes. CONSTITUTION:In the water model experimental apparatus for pouring hot water by the water vessel 1 for the tundish, the nozzle 2 for the continuous casting arranged below this water vessel and the water vessel for the mold, the shapes and the dimensions of at least two of the nozzle for the continuous casting and the water vessel for the mold are allowed to coincide with those of the actual molten steel pouring apparatus. As the flow of the water model is allowed to coincide with the flow of the actual molten steel flow, the confirmation of the various phenomena is facilitated and the experimental accuracy is remarkably improved, as compared with the conventional reduced scale type.
