METHOD FOR CONTROLLING BRIQUETTING OF POWDERY IRON ORE OR PREREDUCED ORE

PURPOSE:To make briquetting efficiency high and stable when hot prereduced ore is mixed with pulverized coal and briquetted, by distilling a liq. effluent from the coal by the sensible heat of the ore and by utilizing the effluent as a binder. CONSTITUTION:Hot powdery prereduced ore is charged into a kneading bottle 3 through a container 1 and pulverized coal is also charged at ordinary temp. through a hopper 11, a contact feeder 12, a screw conveyor 13 and a chute 14 by an amount required to melt and reduce the ore. In the bottle 3, they are mixed with a mixer 15 and the coal is heated. When a liq. effluent is distilled from the coal, torque is produced in a power motor 6 and a torque meter 17 detects the torque. After a state in which the effluent can show a satisfactory binder effect is recognized by the meter 17, a feed valve 18 is opened. The resulting mixed starting material is fed to molding rolls 5 through a feeder 4 and briquetted.
