PURPOSE:To efficiently recover Rh, Pt and Pd from an ammonium rhodium nitrite filtrate by electrolyzing the filtrate in an electrolytic cell. CONSTITUTION:An ammonium rhodium nitrite filtrate 7 having about 50mg/l initial concn. of Rh and about 470mg/l initial concn. of Pt is poured into an electrolytic cell 1, and the anode 3 and the cathode 4 are placed in the cell 1 so that about 4cm interval is left between the electrodes. The anode 3 and the cathode 4 are made of a Pt-Ti net. The filtrate 7 is then stirred with a magnetic stirrer 2, the electrode potential of the cathode 4 is regulated to about 10V which is higher than the potential at which metallic complexes are deposited, and electrolysis is carried out at about 18A/dm2 cathode current density and about 24 deg.C initial bath temp. Thus, Rh, Pt and Pd are efficiently deposited from the filtrate 7 and recovered.
