摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a synthetic intermediate for organic compound under mild condition in high yield without causing problems of the removal of free cyan compounds, by condensing a phthalic acid compound with a succinic acid compound in an aromatic solvent in the presence of a potassium alkoxide. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound can be produced by reacting a phthalic anhydride compound or phthalic acid diester compound with succinic acid diester or succinic acid dinitrile in an aromatic solvent such as toluene, benzyl ether, methyl phenyl ketone, etc., in the presence of a potassium alkoxide at 0-80 deg.C, preferably 30-50 deg.C. The amount of the phthalic acid diester is 1-5mol, preferably 2-3mol and that of the potassium alkoxide is preferably 2.2-2.6mol per 1mol of the succinic acid compound. The preferably amount of the aromatic solvent is 40-80pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. of the succinic acid compound.
