TIMING CHANGING DEVICE IN TIMING BELT DRIVE SYSTEM OF ENGINE

PURPOSE:To make it simple to change the timing of a tappet, by setting a pair of contact members which touch a timing belt wound around a driving shaft and driven shafts, as these contact members are moved along the preset opposite directions to each other, when a rod for connecting these two contact members with each other, is moved. CONSTITUTION:A timing belt 19 is wound around a driving shaft 11 and a driven shafts 13, 14, two contact members 20, 27 are set on the two places of the outer circumference of the belt 19 are respectively, as they hold this belt 19 from both sides, and these contact members 20, 27 are held at the preset interval, with one rod 22 which moves along the longitudinal direction. In this equipment, only the second contact member 27 is also supported with one end of a lever 31, and the other end of the lever 31 is supported as this lever 31 can be rotated freely in relation to a case on the engine-side, around a shaft which is set in parallel to the drive shaft 11. When the rod 22 is moved, the first contact member 20 is moved along the moving direction of the rod 22, and the second contact member 27 is moved around the center of the rotary motion of the lever 31.
