PURPOSE:The titled controlling agent, containing 3-allyloxy-1,2-benzoisothiazole- 1,1-dioxide, etc. as an active constituent, applicable to soil by the hand sowing, capable of producing a great effect even at a few times of application, and safe for men and cattle. CONSTITUTION:A controlling agent containing at least one selected from 3-allyloxy- 1,2-benzoisothiazole-1,1-dioxide, 1,2-benzoisothiazoline-1,1-dioxide and a sodium salt thereof as an active constituent, preferably with another agent, e.g. a germicide such as thiophanate-methyl, benomyl or streptomycin, or in combination with an inorganic copper agent or carbamate agent. The agent is used directly or by diluting with a liquid carrier, e.g., water, or a solid powder, and if necessary an adjuvant, e.g. an extender. The agent may be applied to a foliar part, preferably to soil or mixed with the soil.
