PURPOSE:To obtain an original for photoengraving in a short period at a low cost by energizing a laminated sheet from the exothermic resistance layer thereof to induce the discharge breakdown of the exothermic resistance layer, conductive layer and exothermic high resistance layer and making the thermal transfer of a heat sensitive transfer ink layer by the generated heat, thereby exposing an insulating base material layer. CONSTITUTION:The exothermic resistance layer, conductive layer, insulating base material layer and heat sensitive ink layer are laminated in this order. The exothermic resistance layer consists of 100pts.wt. resin matrix and 5-400pts.wt. =1 kinds of conductivity lendering agents selected from the group consisting of metallic powder, carbon black and graphite and has 0.5X102-107OMEGA surface resistance. Said layer is subjected to the discharge breakdown in the stage of discharge recording. The conductive layer consists of a thin metallic film, has 0.1-50OMEGA surface resistance and is subjected to the discharge breakdown in the stage of discharge recording. The transparent or white insulating base material layer is not subjected to the discharge breakdown in the stage of discharge recording. The laminated sheet is energized from the exothermic resistance layer side to make the discharge breakdown of the exothermic resistance layer and conductive layer and thermal transfer of the heat sensitive transfer ink layer, by which the original for photoengraving is obtd.
