END-FALL PREVENTING DEVICE FOR CUT YARN END IN AUTOMATIC WINDER

PURPOSE:To prevent the end-fall of a cut yarn by a method wherein an end-fall preventing guide is provided in a thread passing line in the proximity of a traverse drum and the cut yarn end is passed while keeping it in contact with a guide edge. CONSTITUTION:The end-fall preventing device G comprising front guide plates 20a, 20b, a rear guide plate 23 and side guide plates 24a, 24b as one body or as an assembly is provided in the proximity of the traverse drum 3. When an end breakage of yarn occurs, the yarn end between a slab catcher 9 and a package 6 becomes free and passed while being traversed by the intertial rotation of the drum 3. In this case, since the tip end of the yarn Y passes through the gap between the front guide plates 20a, 20b and the rear guide plate 23, it is contacted to the curved guide edge 18, 19 of the front or rear guide plate. Accordingly, for instance, a sliding in the direction of an arrow X from a position Y1 of the guide edge 18 occurs so that the yarn end moves along the guide edge 18, then it is restricted at a stepped-part position Y2 and the trailing end of the yarn is wound up at the corresponding package position.
