PURPOSE:To narrow the width of a strut, by constituting the strut with a thick plate extended along the center plane of a hull, grid-like ribs attached to both surfaces of the thick plate and skins attached to the front and rear ends of the thick plate and to the outer edge of the ribs to cover the plates and the ribs. CONSTITUTION:A strut 1 connecting between a main hull 5 and a torpedo-shape submerged body 5 is composed of a thick plate 2 extended along the center plane 7 of the full 5, grid-like ribs 3 welded to both surfaces of the thick plate 2 and skins 4 attached to the front and rear ends of the thick plate 2 and the outer ends of the ribs 3 to cover the thick plate 2 and the ribs 3. Accordingly, the sinks 4 serving as the outer shell of the strut 1 may be welded to the inside ribs 3 at the outside thereof, and therefore, it is possible to eliminate the necessity of having workers enter into the inside of the strut 1 for welding. Accordingly it is possible to narrow the width of the strut, thereby it is possible to enhance the anticruising ability of the ship, remarkably.
