COMPOSITION FOR ACTIVATING PHAGOCYTIC ACTIVITY OF PHAGOCYTE

PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition containing 3-0-glucosyl-L-ascorbic acid as an active component and useful for the remedy of the infectious diseases of man and other mammals caused by bacteria and viruses, etc., and malignant tumors. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition for activating phagocytic activity of phagocyte can be produced by using 3-0-glucosyl-L-ascorbic acid (a compound having the structure obtained by glucosylating the 3-hydroxyl group of L- ascorbic acid) as an active component. It can be administered to man and other mammals for the remedy of infectious diseases or malignant tumors by oral, parenteral or external administration. It is extremely useful for the remedy of viral infection diseases, infectious diseases caused frequently by the diseases such as leukemia, or infectious diseases caused by the phagocytic function disorder such as Chediak-Higashi syndrome. Dose: preferably 1-500mg/kg per dose and 100-500mg/kg daily.
