PAINTING METHOD AND MASKING CONSTRUCTION USED IN SAID METHOD

PURPOSE:To make the positioning, etc. in the stage of mounting a masking film sure and easy, by inserting the end parts of wires mounted to the side edge of said films into the detaining parts provided to a member to be painted attachably and detachably. CONSTITUTION:A flexible masking film 9 consisting of a heat-resistant and solvent-resistant material such as a PP resin or the like is embedded with a pair of wires 10, 10' in both end edges thereof which wires are projected from the end parts of the film to form a masking jig 7. On the other hand, a bumper facer 8 is provided with a surface 8a to be painted at the circumferential edge and a non-painting surface 8b which is recessed slightly therefrom. Grooves 11, 11' to be provided with the wires along the longitudinal direction of the facer 8 are provided on the opposite edges of the surface 8b, and through-holes 12, 12' for detaining the wires are provided on continuation with the end parts of the grooves 11, 11'. The jig 7 is thus mounted simply by inserting the wires into the through-holes and the thermal expansion in the stage of baking is slidingly absorbed by the wires.
