PURPOSE:To obtain a carrier of less nonspecific adsorption by using a base material coated with a copolymer prepd. by copolymerizing monomers of specific structures as a carrier for immobilizing physiologically active materials. CONSTITUTION:The base material coated with the copolymer consisting essentially of the monomer of hydrophilic acrylate or the like of the general formula CH2=C(R1)CO2R2OR3 (where R1=H, CH3 groups, R2=a lower alkyl group, a hydroxyl group, etc., R3=H, an alkyl group of 1-3 carbon numbers), and copolymerized with the unsatd. carboxylic acid of the general formula CH2= C(R1)CO2H or the unsatd. amine of the general formula CH2=C(R1)CO2R2 NHR3 (where R1, R3 are the similar to the above, R2=a bivalent alkylene group of 2-3 carbon numbers) is used as a carrier for immobilizing physiologically active materials. Since this carrier has less nonspecific adsorption, it is usable for clinical purpose.
