The deposit drawer, e.g. for placing valuables in a strong-box or night-safe, consists of a drawer (2) which contains a compartment (18) pivoted to the sides (6,7) of the drawer so that it tips over when the drawer is pushed in. The tipping compartment has rollers (20) with projecting eccentric pegs (25) that interact with sloping guides (26) inside the drawer housing. The contents of the tipping compartment can be dropped either directly into a strong-box below it, or via a chute.
