Injectable chemical compound capable of inducing sterility in male animals with scrotal testes, to be used for the selective regulation of the exocrine function of the testes in the production of sperm and their endocrine function in the production of testosterone. The injectable chemical compound is a physiologically acceptable astrigent, preferably a water-soluble zinc compound, a tannin or a combination thereof. The compound is injected directly into the testes or scrotum.
