The camping caravan body, constructed from sheets of folded aluminium alloy, is made in monocoque shape (with no chassis) with a lower section and a roof made in two halves which are joined together axially by welding or rivetting. The body has recesses to accommodate the wheels, and the interior partitions which separate the internal space, dividing it into rooms, and joined together by cross members at top and bottom so that they provide the reinforcement for the outer shell. - The shell sections which form the roof of the caravan come down at the sides of the caravan to the top of its side windows, while the halves of the lower section come up to the bottom of the windows.
