The cutting blade assembly of this machine is of a type which can encircle the cable. Such an assembly is the HOLMATRO 22 type (RTM) used by firebrigades, etc., for rescue work. The machine has a conical cup which is designed to fit over the point of the arm of a mechanical digging machine. The blade assembly is operated by the hydraulic cylinder of the digging machine, and has a bracket which can be bolted onto the end of the piston rod of the cylinder. The cutting machine is made from sheet steel and welded together.
