Evaporation heat pump working on air cycle principle - uses series of heat exchangers to maximise fuel savings

Warm air (A) is drawn into the system and fed, via a first heat exchanger (1) to the main of second exchanger (7) outside the casing. After passing through the second exchanger the air is expanded (4) before absorbing heat from the other channel of the first exchanger (1), which is equipped with a condensate drip catcher (2) and a drain tap (3). It then passes through a compressor (5), a third (10) and fourth (11) heat before leaving (B) the system. The compressor is linked by a shaft (6) to the expander (4), a motor (8) powered by fossil fuels and an auxiliary electric motor/generator (9). The whole system, with the exception of the main exchanger (7) is inside an insulated housing (12).
