A thrombolytic protein (I) having tissue plasminogen activator-type activity is characterised by a peptide sequence the same as that of human t-PA in which (a) Arg-275 is deleted or is replaced by a different amino acid and (b) at least one of the consensus N-linked glycosylation sites is modified to other than a consensus N-linked glycosylation site. Also claimed is a thrombolytic protein having tPA-type activity characterised by a peptide sequence the same as that of human t-PA,in which one or more amino acids in the region Gly-(-3) to Thr-91 are deleted or replaced with different.
