The sides (10,20,30,40) of the preferably wooden frame structure of a window or of a door have connecting pieces (11,21,31,41,33,43) which connect two frame pieces to one another. The connecting piece is located either at the end of a frame side, where it connects two frame pieces of two frame sides to one another at an angle, or in a frame side between the ends thereof, where it connects two frame pieces of the same frame side to one another. In the connecting piece there may also be provided a technical component such as a hinge, a bolt, a lock, a ventilation opening, a fan, a valve or the like and/or it may have an appearance which differs from the rest of the frame structure.
