The blind has a series of hollow laths (1) each with a hole in the top (5) allowing the bulbous end (3) of the leaf (2) to enter the hollow body (4). The leaf can be either part of the lath above or can be separate from, but connected to it. The leaf part is housed in body while the blind is closed and when pulled clear it can reveal one of several forms, either totally perforated to let in air but not light, or partially perforated and partially slotted so that it can let in air and light simultaneously.
