The invention relates to a nuclear fuel assembly having an improved attaching structure for removably mounting the top nozzle of the fuel assembly on the upper end of a control-rod guide thimble. The attaching structure comprises an outer socket (42) defined in a portion (24) of the top nozzle, an inner socket (40) extending from the upper end of the guide thimble (14) and removably received in the outer socket for interlocking engagement therewith, and an elongate locking member (44) adapted to be inserted into the inner socket to maintain said interlocking engagement. Removal of the locking member from the inner socket enables the latter to be withdrawn from the outer socket, thereby enabling the top nozzle to be removed from the guide thimble.
