A B S T R A C TA PROCESS FOR THE SEPARATION OFDRY FLY ASH FROM A GASProcess for the separation of fly ash from hotcrude synthesis gas by means of a cyclone and ascrubbing system. A fly ash/water slurry derivedfrom the scrubbing system is partly recycled to thehot crude synthesis gas before the cyclone andpartly withdrawn.In conventional gas purification systems thereexists a serious chance of the building-up ofcorrosive materials like halogenides and formicacid, in the water recycle loop(s). This drawbackis avoided by the improvement according to thepresent invention.
